31 People Killed From Al Qaeda's Bombs

A soldier guarding a building on alert after incident.
Reportedly, two car bombs were sent from the al Qaeda Islam extremists killed 31 people, 20 of which were children. The attack occurred this Tuesday, in the town of Rada. Militants from the group were targeting the Shia militia, also known as Houthis, by exploding their gathering points. One of the bombs had made it to the destination it was intended for, while the other one exploded near a school bus full of students on their way home from school. All of the students killed, according to an activist that resides in the town, were under the age of 12.
The town Rada, since October, has been experiencing a mini war between the Houthis and al Qaeda fighters. Since then, the amounts of deaths recorded are in the hundreds. Al Qaeda has intensified Houthis leaders as their primary targets lately, and on a daily basis conduct missions to destroy their military bases.

Many innocent lives were lost due to the "unacceptable" failure the al Qaeda made. The Yemen government is referring to the suicide mission as an act of "cowardice," while also doing organizing military offenses to prevent attacks and further conflict from occurring.

Nepalese Eye Doctor Restored Over 100,000 People's Vision

"I am so grateful that I can make a difference in so many people's lives," Dr. Sanduk Ruit pleaded when he was asked about his profession. The humble doctor over the past 3 decades has restored the vision to over 100,000 people. The surgeon takes about five minutes to make a small incision in a patient's eye, remove the cloudy cataract hindering the vision, and then replacing it with inexpensive artificial lens.

Dr. Sanduk Ruit (Right) next to patients he had just restored vision to.
A lot of the grateful patients are beyond pleased, for after the surgery for many it happens to be the first time they've seen in years. All throughout Asia, Africa, and some parts of the isolated areas in North Korea, Ruit has taught his technique to many other eye surgeons, while performing countless operations. Most of the eye infections Ruit sees and operates on could have easily been prevented. Although some the areas he performs surgeries in are full of people that receive low-income, he still continues to help them. They literally cannot afford to stay healthy and become immune to simply bacteria in the eyes. Estimated according to the World Health Organization, studies show that 39 million people worldwide are blind.

One of the most moving patient recovery stories was of an 80-year-old North Korean man. Ruit repaired his eyes and then had witnessed his son for the first time in 10 years after being completely blind in both eyes. The man's life, like others in the past, had been transformed.

5 Northern White Rhinos Left in the World

In a San Diego zoo, a Northern white rhino died of old age early Sunday morning. Angalifu, was a 44-year-old rhino a part of the subspecies genetically different from regular rhinoceroses. The zoo made a statement about the danger the species has been in. On the verge of extinction, there are a total of 5 known rhinos left in the world. One of them, Noala, is one of the elders in a San Diego zoo. Another rare species that is considered a subspecies is also the Southern white rhino.

When these specific rhinos are brought to any zoo, each are slowly introduced to a new feeding pattern, this calls for extreme situations of adapting to this kind of behavior. Initially they're raised in favorable breeding conditions, as an attempt to continue this species of the rhino.

The rhino horn is considered highly desirable for poachers around East Asia. It is believed to be more valuable than drugs; they reportedly cure a series of aliments. The horns sell for tens of thousands of dollars. Organizations have been developed to try and prevent the high rate of poaching throughout Asia, and Africa. Both of these countries have some of the only existing Northern Rhinos left in the world.

The Strawberry Tree

The difficulty of not having a charged phone throughout the day has been vanished in Serbia. The creator of this idea, Milos Milisavlijevic, has designed a public solar-powered charging station shaped as a tree installed across the country. The Strawberry Tree, named so after the symbolism of strawberries as the first fruit of the summer, can work for up to 20 days without sunlight thanks to its in-built solar batteries. Contains reused steel, and 98% of it can be recycled. Also up to sixteen chargers for a variety of phones and tablets. Each charger is equipped with sensors which measure conditions like air pollution, noise levels, and UV radiation in its vicinity. They even have their own WI-FI and USB sockets for people to connect on the internet with.

Milisavlijevic claims the main function for these phones can be countless; between checking weather, traffic, and activities in a location, to being the best emergency response the public safety services can offer. Each station has its own emergency button, installed to hopefully prevent crime.

France Agrees to Compensate Holocaust Deportees

France met with U.S. authorities in order to resolve the on-going concern of the involvement in WWII's genocide. Over $60 million dollars will be offered to any Jew or relative of Jew affected from the deportation to concentration camps during the Holocaust. The embassy of France and the government are contributing to those affected as a sign of retribution. In other words, it is a way to convey their guilt, commitment, and responsibility that they had contributed to WWII victims in the concentration camps. Allegedly, it was also said that this will further strengthen the friendship between the United States and France. A few thousand people are eligible for the funds and benefits the government is offering.

Man Rescued After 12 Days Lost at Sea

Ron Ingraham, the 67-year-old Hawaiian native, had made the distressed call twelve days ago that his boat was sinking to the officials in the Coast Guard. When they found Ingraham, he was reported to be "weak, hungry, and dehydrated." The days he was at sea, he was stuck in his 25-foot sailboat, and experienced rough seas with waves up to 15-20 feet high. Tuesday morning about 64 miles (103 kilometers) south of Honolulu, they found him. He had reportedly had been surviving off of catching and eating fish.
He works as a fisherman, also is a retired veteran, with a son. When his son, Zakary Ingraham, heard about the search coming to a closing nine days ago, he denied it and claimed his father was still alive. The son was overjoyed and very happy his father was returned home, and also believes within a couple of weeks his father will return to his daily routine of fishing.

The "Lunatic Line"

About a century ago, Indian communities were sent in ships and dhows across the Indian Ocean to Kenya in order to become the working labor for, what is believed to be, one of the continent's greatest railways. The descendants of these travelers owe the success they have today, because of the economic and cultural roots the Indian community set in building the railroad a hundred years ago.

The lunatic line received its name by the misfortunes and chaos that surrounded it. The railroad was very costly to build, and also the Indian people worked on the railroads in the wide open, wild animals, like lions would very easily attack them. Reportedly, 30,000 identified men were sent on the journey to Africa. Each had begun the difficult construction of the railroad system between Kisumu, and Mombasa; roughly about 625 miles away from each other. About 2,500 men had died by the time the railroad was completed, that is four people for every mile.

One cause for the high death rate was the lions. These man eaters are said to have eaten 28-100 people. Another reason for the mortality rate was the diseases that were spread. Many died of malaria and black fever when they built the terrains, and had no medical assistance.

Missing Mom Found Dead in Trunk of a Car

The dead body to the Californian mom of four boys was recovered from the back of a car early Thursday morning. Erica Perez's body was abandoned inside a vehicle parked outside a hospital near her home. The death is considered a homicide and there are no suspects detained yet.

Daniel Perez, her husband, was enraged and unstable after hearing about his wife; he was allegedly ready to jump from a highway overpass, after having a standoff with the SWAT team. They arrested him for the endangering his sons, he had them in his vehicle near the scene, and could possibly face abduction charges. The kids were on their way home Thursday evening, uninjured and safe with their grandparents. Family members have stated that the Perezes' marriage was rocky and had some issues with domestic violence. The entire scene is still under investigation.

Indonesian Maid Tortured

The Indonesian domestic helper, Erwaiana Sulistyaningsih, a 23-year-old maid, had reported that for six months she has been tortured by her former employee. Law Wan-Tung, who resides in Hong Kong, and is 44-years-old, faces at least 21 charges. The charges include grievous bodily harm, assault, and criminal intimidation.

The maid confessed in her two-day testimony, that she endured many beatings; she had been punched, slapped, and kicked. One time, Erwiana claimed that Tung was angry that her helper had dozed off on the job. There are many other occurrences of humiliating things Tung made Erwiana do, one includes striping down naked. Erwiana said she was forced to work 20 hour days and only slept between 1 and 5 P.M.

Several migrant rights activist groups have rallied outside of the courthouse, protesting for justice for Erwiana.

Orion Test Flight Launch Set for Friday Morning

In 3...2...1, Let the countdown begin for NASA and the eager Americans viewing the launch.

NASA has been designing a spacecraft to withstand deep space travel, and the treacherous conditions that come with it. The new spacecraft's name is Orion. Many are saying that this marks the beginning to a new era; also bring back memories to Apollo missions. Even though Orion is designed to go far beyond the moon and is much roomier than all of Apollo's space-crafts. Orion can carry four astronauts on a 21-day mission, and six astronauts on shorter missions. While Apollo only carried three astronauts for a mission that lasted up to 12 days.

Originally Orion was set to launch Thursday, but there was a series of delays. These delays range from wind gusts to strong, a boat docked to close to the launch area and the drain valves failing to open. This Friday morning in Florida, the test launch should take place. During this test flight, Orion will reach an altitude of 3,600 miles and will orbit Earth twice. Four and half hours later, it will splash down in the Pacific Ocean about 600 miles off the coast of Baja California. Two U.S. Navy ships will help NASA recover the capsule.

Although there are no human beings to actual are set to be in the spacecraft Friday, it is reported that by 2021 America will have had a crew on Mars.

Doctor Removed After Using Bicycle Pump on Patient

A doctor in Odisha State, India, used a bicycle pump to inflate a woman's abdomens during surgery. With disgusted comments, and worried health officials, there has been a launch on an investigation.
Last Friday, reportedly, a 56-year-old woman was undergoing sterilization surgery at a government-run community health center. The doctor operating on her though used an unsanitary bicycle pump for inflation of her abdomens. Dr. Mahesh Chandra Rout, who is a retired surgeon, has been carrying out required surgeries for the clinic for the past years. The proper equipment that should have been used during this specific operation is a carbon dioxide insufflator. This allows a doctor to measure the amount of pressure that is required on a person's abdomen to prevent it from bursting. Allegedly, Health Officials have searched and searched for this insufflator and it is missing.

This is not uncommonly seen in India, last month, a surgeon was arrested for homicide. He was connected to the death of dozens of women who had undergone sterilization operations improperly.

Professional Soccer Player Undergoes Brain Surgery

Roma's defender, Leandro Castan in September, had complained about dizziness during halftime of one of his matches in the Italian Serie A. After being sidelined for the rest of the remaining games he attended, the 28-year-old was incapable to playing to his fullest potential due to a brain problem. To be more specific a cavernous, or a cluster of abnormal blood vessels, located in his brain. During his neurosurgery, which was successful, the neurosurgeon had completely removed the cavernous that was three centimeters in length.

Roma is a part of one of Europe's Champions League, and Castan had been a key player that joined the team. It will take eight months to recover, or until Castan is seen on the soccer field ready for action.

Emergency Repair for Ukraine Nuclear Powerplant

Ukraine's power plant since 1984, needs repairs.
In Southeastern Ukraine new repairs had to be reinstalled into the nuclear power plant after one of the circuits shorted out and destroyed the power output of the system. There has been no threat of any leak of radiation, and is considered under control. Some reasons for the recent issues can be because of the low temperatures and increase in power throughout Ukraine. Also, an imbalance of emergency repair energy units has been the major reason why there was power in these areas. This caused an inadequate amount of the coal supply in the power plants warehouse was issued. The repairs should be completed by December fifth, latest.

This territory of Ukraine is controlled by the government in Kiev. Only125 miles away is the major city of Donetsk, which have been experiencing month’s long battles between Pro-Russian forces  and Ukrainians. Also, 325 miles away from Zaporizhya is the uninhabited area of Chernobyl's power plant. In the 1980's had its nuclear reactor explode. This set off radiation in the atmosphere and ultimately affected nine million people, and killed 4,000 clean-up workers.

New Standard-Issue on Military Sidearm

Members of the United States Army have been yearning for a new sidearm pistol for the past year. With a new contract in the making, many guns and gun companies such as the M&P, General Dynamics (GD), etc. have been entering this huge competition. The official contract will not be released until January of 2015.

For the past three decades, the US Army has been using the Berretta M9 semiautomatic. Before that, they had the M1911 from Colt. This was the starting of semiautomatic pistols. In fact, for ninety years, this gun was on the side to many Americans. The M1911 pistol was issued through wars such as Vietnam, both World Wars, Philippines, etc.

The U.S. Army are just "looking for a new modular handgun system that can easily be adjusted to fit all hand sizes." Reportedly there has been an increasing desire for lighter guns. More and more gun owners are having their gun handle and frame replaced with plastic. The Glock is one of the most popular lightweight pistols that is bought in the United States.

Two Americans Accused of Stealing Infant Body Parts From Thailand

Two Americans had allegedly stolen adult and infant body parts from the forensic medicine museum of Bangkok's Siriraj Hospital last Saturday in Thailand. Their reasoning was unclear, but the two Americans stated that they "wanted to surprise one of their friends back in the states".

Ryan Edward McPherson and Daniel Jamon Tanner are facing the potential to serve up to seven years in a state prison, with fines up to $15,200. These two men are facing charges of theft from a government hospital, and breaching custom laws. The histories of Thailand's medical advancements are displayed in these glass artifacts and archives of fetuses.

The DHL office in Thailand's Province stated that while some workers were scanning shipments, the three suspicious packages were seen. The packages contained about five acrylic boxes; one had a baby's left foot chopped up into little pieces, with the infant's head right beside it. There is still more that needs to be investigated, and others that could have been involved in the theft.

Although this is cruel and disgraceful act, this is not an uncommon thing seen throughout Thailand. Especially in the black market, Infant body parts are considered to be sold as a supernatural power that protects monks/sorcerers and can ward off bad luck. This is the practice of black magic.

Missing Beauty Queen and Her Sister Found Dead

This Wednesday, a Honduran Beauty Queen and her sister were found dead. Maria Jose Alvarado Munoz, 19, and her sister, Sofia Trinidad Alvarado, 23; had allegedly been buried on top of one another in a shallow grave near a river.

There have been two detainments, one of Alvarado boyfriend, Plutarco Antonio Ruiz Rodriguez and Aris Valentin Maldonado Mejia. Ruiz was the suspect that had been in contact with these girls the most before their disappearance.

They had last been seen last Thursday, on their way to a spa birthday party for Ruiz. This was another reason for the suspicion for Ruiz's involvement with the murder. The two girl's mother, Teresa Munoz, had initially thought they were kidnapped during the several days they were missing.

Alvarado, 19, was supposed to leave for London soon to participate in the Miss World Pageant, police said. The contestants are going to host a special service to honor the two sisters, one of the chairmen apart of the committee had stated.

The two sisters, Munoz (L), and Alvarado (R).

Northern United States Has More Snow Coming

The entire Northeast Region to the United States has been hit by a terrible blizzard. In Buffalo, New York, there was a total of five feet of snow. People have been trapped in their homes for the past couple of days, some in their cars. In New Hampshire and Michigan, there have been eight reported deaths. Some of them were involved in deadly traffic accidents.

As the temperatures of the region continue to drop to below zero, the radar has picked up more snow to come. Three feet is expected in parts of Buffalo, New York for the next couple of days. It is unheard of to have a massive snowstorm during this time of the year.

Residents are enclosed in their homes as the icy road conditions have prevented travel, train routes have been suspended and schools have been forced to close.

Isolated Hermits of Ukraine and Russia

"Pray that your loneliness may spur you into finding something to live for, and great enough to die for." These great words from Dag Hammarskjold can relate to the men of Ukraine and Russia that have become alienated from human society to live "off grid" in the back woods of their countries. They have chosen to find peace and harmony with the unknown world, and are willing to die in and for it.
A hermit stands and watches for people passing by.
Hermits, another name given to the men that have extricated themselves socially, have made their own shelters/homes out of the surrounding resources. The names to these hermits were not included because some of them do not even have documents.

A home in the middle of nowhere.
Photographer, Danila Tkachenko, was on a mission to find and interact with the men of the woods. He had called local authorities, park rangers, newspapers, and nature reserves to find the men in Ukraine and Russia.

Before he had taken these photos, he had spent days with these men. He observed that they were "quite talkative and nice." The hermits live off of what they gather, hunt, or find. If they become terminally ill, they find folk methods to deal with their conditions. They never have or will leave the woods, it is their home.

Eric Frein Caught and Charged

The 31-year-old survivalist from Pennsylvania, Eric Frein, was captured on October 30th when he was found near a small run-down airport in the Eastern area.

A huge operation that lasted seven weeks, and during this manhunt there was said that thousands of armed officers were searching for Frein. After they detained the "most wanted man", police had found an abundance of various food supplies, clothing, and weapons with ammunition; a laptop, first-aid supplies, shave kits, DVDs, contact lenses and a copy of his New Testament that he wrote for his parents. This was obvious evidence that he was a well-equipped to survive weeks-months in the wilderness. Frein told the police he used a Lenovo ThinkPad laptop, which allowed him to access wireless connections and use the internet.

Frein was charged with first-degree murder, and terrorism-related charges. He told the police in his confession how he wanted to "wake the people up", and make a change in the government, "it is far from what is should be."

Frein allegedly, when he was found, did not put up a fight. He surrendered, let the officers' hand-cuff him, then was placed in the backseat of the slain trooper's car. Then he was escorted back to the barracks where had made the ambush on the officer. There he waits for the prosecutors to finalize their decision on the death penalty.

50 People Arrested For Suspected Kiling of Christian Couple

Picture of Christian couple burned alive.
There were a total of fifty people arrested due to the suspected killing of the Christian couple.  In East Pakistan, it was reported that over 500 people were a part of a mob that had beaten and pushed a couple into a lit kiln, which ultimately killed them.
The women's name that was murdered was given to the press as Shyman Bibi Urf Shamar and her husband as Sajjad Nasir Zurjah Nazir Nasir. These two worked together in their home, which is 37 miles away from the capital, Punjab. Allegedly the mob had busted through the couple's home, breaking down the door and when they had found the couple they dragged them outside. They continued to beat them, until finally the mob threw both of them into the brick kiln. The owners of the brick kiln were among those who were detained.

It was reported that the couple was guilty of blashperry, and that was the reason the mob had brutally attacked the couple. Many villagers heard rumors of the couple desecrating the Koran, and grew very angry.

The couple had two sons and a daughter, and their family is devastated. Pakistan's government is donating money and has given the family ten acres of land due to the incident.

Cranberries Lead Singer Plane Disturbance

The Cranberries lead singer, Dolores O'Riordian, allegedly assaulted a cabin flight attendant and head-butted a police officer trying to control her last Monday. The transatlantic flight was heading to Shannon Airport in mid-west Ireland from New York, the disturbance did not cause any flight issues.

The 43-year-old Irish Singer, O'Riordian, had hospitalized a female crew member of Flight El 110, with a foot or leg injury. When a police officer grabbed her, O'Riordian heaved her head and bashed the police officer in the face. The officer, unlike the flight attendant, did not need medical assistance.

O'Riordian had charges pressed against her. She was detained in the local jail, but was released a few hours after the incident.

US Sailors Attacked By Turkish Youth Union

US sailors were assaulted by a group of Turkish Youth Union during their stop near Istanbul. Wednesday, caught on tape, a selected few sailors were approached by the angry Turkish people. The protestors had claimed to be very enraged with the "Yankees" and want the United States to stop their quest on imperialism in the Middle East.

The three members involved in the incident were a part of the USS Ross and visiting Turkey, which is one of the allied nations apart of NATO. Bags were forced onto the sailor's heads. The Turkish people wanted vengeance for what American troops in 2003 did to the Turkish troops. The American troops in Northern Iraq detained the troops, accusing them of smuggling weapons. Then they had forced bags over their heads. Which was allegedly recorded and shown all over Turkey, and it became very popular. Some Turkey groups are still full of resentment, and just overall have a severe dislike to America.

This act of hatred was not tolerated by the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They had tweeted on twitter, condemning the attack, and reinforced that "the Turkish people would join us in rejecting an action that disrespects the Turkish reputation of hostility."

Love is in the Air

Love was in the air on the Southwest Flight 4058 for a couple from Corydon, Indiana; as they became husband and wife in an airplane. Dottie Coven and Keith Stewart planned for their marriage celebration to take place up in the air on November 2nd.

They are both business travelers and frequent fliers and could not think of a better place to get hitched. When they approached Southwest airlines with the idea, the entire airlines was all for it. They are known for their entertainment on rewarding their flight attendants, who were especially good to customers, publically. This will help create a personal relationship with some of their customers, which is good business.

The Airlines and Wedding planners joined forces to make the perfect ceremony with the most amazing departure and arrival gates. There was a band in the back seats with balloons and many other decorations hanging from the roof to illuminate the jet way. The flower girl started off the ceremony by walking up the aisle handing out peanuts, and the pilot used the loud speaker to perform the marriage.

The happy couple was glad their 30 friends had attended their wedding. But also showed much appreciation to the 100 other unsuspecting fliers for taking apart of the ceremony.

700-year-old "Doodles" Found

A picture of the manuscripts with drawings.
As archeologists discovered the 700-year-old drawings on the pages of books scattered throughout the recently found mines, they were not exactly what they were expecting! They were in awe by the cartoons that were found printed onto the pages of the monk's manuscripts. This is revolutionary, the knowledge of the medieval times and personality of people back then can now be exploited by the historians that before had very little evidence to go off of. To them these doodles are so similar to the present day doodles; they have funny faces, drawn with beards and scribbled lines around names, etc. Historians think the drawings are funny, and find it amusing that the monks had a "sense of humor". They also can make personal connections to the sketches when they analyze them, which one historian claimed was like they are "sitting right next to them" watching history be made. One note was dated back to May of 1486, which was a love letter.

Mexican Mayor and Wife Suspected For Abductions of 43 Students

Early Tuesday morning near South Mexican City in Iguala, their Mayor Jose Luis Arbarca and his wife, Maria de los Angeles Pineda were detained in a house they were renting near the Iztapalapa neighborhood in Mexico City. They reportedly have been missing since the incident of the abductions of the 43 students on September 26.

These students, mostly in their early 20's, were all on buses on their way to pursue their professions of their choice at a college campus near Iguala. When their trip had abruptly came to an end, as armed men forced the buses to stop and abducted all of the passengers. There have been many incidents that brought suspicion to the local gangs of the nearby area. Although there have been many other suspects, up to 60 people have been brought into custody.

The Mexican Mayor and his wife were considered as "probable masterminds" of the events that had taken place due to their actions of fleeing hours after the buses were attacked. It is still under investigation, and there is still a long road ahead for the police officials of Guerrero, Mexico on the search for their missing civilians.

90-year-old Man Charged For Feeding Homelss

Arnold Abbott, a 90-year-old man, along with the Rev. Mark Slims, of St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church, and the Rev. Dwayne Black, pastor of the Sanctuary Church, were charged for feeding the homeless people on the streets of South Florida Park. A new policy the city officials of Fort Lauderdale, Florida are trying to uphold to outlaw the distribution of belongings, food, drinks, etc. in their community.

The ordinance was recently adjusted to limit the storage of personal property in public, and of course the restriction for food sharing. The city officials' claim is not "productive" to have cycles that feed the homeless. They have homeless assistance centers run by the Broward Partnership, which is another alternative for the "vulnerable and poor" people on the sidewalks of this community.

Abbott still does not agree with the terms of turning his head to the people that "do not have a roof over their head". He has been in a constant battle with city members. Reportedly in 1999, he had sued the city from banning him from feeding the homeless, and won. Abbott claims he is not afraid of going to jail for obtaining his moralistic beliefs. It will take more than a $500 bill and some jail time to stop him from going down to the beach of Fort Lauderdale to serve the people in need.

Eldred Varsity Girls Win Sections

As the sun hit the horizon at Faller Field, Middletown, NY; the Varsity girl's soccer team for Eldred had been crowned the Section 9 Class D champions. Last year: almost the same exact group of girls had done the unimaginable; they earned a place up in the New York State championship. This year when playing they showed a fierce hunger to win the title again, and hopefully make it as far as they did last year.

I am the striker for Eldred's team, and I have attended almost every practice these 3 months of playing soccer. I have seen my team develop a bond of trust and learn to fully understand each other on and off the field. When the bus pulled up to the field already seeing the Manor girls on the field, I along with everyone else on my team knew, Manor was going to bring their all.

Earlier this season, our coach, J.J. Gass, drilled it into our minds to set small goals for our team. First win all of the four league games we had on our schedule against the other Class D schools, Chapel Field and Manor. Which we did, but this season all the excitement came from playing against the bigger schools and winning. We had played against Monticello (Class A), Liberty (Class B), Port Jervis (Class B) and won. When it was all said and done, we finished with a record of 13-2-1! This was a huge accomplishment and our team was ready to move onto our next goal, which was win sections.

As we stepped out to the beautiful turf field of Middletown, it was a good feeling to be back. The freshmen that were not on the team last year stood in awe. The game was about to start, so we ran our lap and stretched; our usual preparation before a game. Our stomachs were turning when the refs blew the whistle for the game to start.

The starters for Eldred went to their usual positions; Jenna Burns in the goal, her steady defense set up like a diamond infront of her with Alaina Gaughan, Erin Clarkin, Savannah Finck, and Addy Bodnaruik. Sheila Burns, Kassandra Weatherly, and Alyssa McGrail were the fast, controllers of the midfield. Jordan Lepes, Melissa McMonagle, and I had the offensive attackers upfront.

When Jordan Lepes headed the ball in off the corner kick I took, that was the first goal of the game in the first half. The battle remained between both the teams, all through the last minutes of the first half and the beginning of the second. When Sheila Burns the center midfielder, made the second goal, it was over for the Manor team. Eldred girls became ecstatic and were determined to hold their two point lead.

The final four blows of the game, was the best feeling imaginable. The players on the bench rushed out to the field; 20 girls (the names not mentioned before: Cat Nicholson, Tabby Banghart, Sammi Clemons, Lauren Frey, Gemma MacFee, Francine McDonnell, Molly Clarkin, Julia Foster, and Ally Rumsey), were jumping and screaming with joy because of their accomplishment.
Coach Gass smiled and told his team was on to their next goal to win Regionals. November 8th in Albany my team and I will have to prove ourselves to New York State again and try to qualify for States again.

A New Type of High

How do you find your high? For a small group in Russia, sharing the same mutual interest in urban life and the landmarks that are constructed in them, it is scooping buildings and structures scattered throughout widely known cities. OTR (On the Roofs), has young photographers on a quest for captures of a more thrilling perspective of cities all over the world, just "for fun".

About five years ago (2009) in Moscow; a group of driven kids began to climb the simple buildings of Russia, with the idea that a beautiful still would come out of it. The audacious members desperately yearned for more exciting pictures though. They started then to scale larger skyscrapers. Still that wasn't enough for these adrenaline junkies. Claiming OTR wanted better footage, they started to migrate to different countries, and climb some of the world's tallest skyscrapers and perilously lean over edges with their video cameras.

They literally have gone out on a limb to get the most amazing footage. However, OTR has also seized parts of the subways and subterranean locations that are not regularly noticed by everyday passersby. Some places are strictly prohibited, and when they enter them they are considered trespassing. But they're not scared of the heights and spiders in these grimy areas, they are most terrified of the police catching them. OTR have ventured into at least 50 different countries and counting, Arabian countries are the most dangerous in consequences that would result if they were to be caught.

Manhunt for Eric Frein Lasting 6 Weeks

On September 12, Eric Matthew Frein shot and killed Officer Cpl. Bryon Dickson, near Blooming Glove, Pennsylvania. Frein made a run for the woods after the ambush.

No one has suspected Frein to last this long in the Northeast woods of Pennsylvania with packs of armed forces on the hunt for him. Frein is a highly specialized survivalist and has spent years in Russia learning combat. It has been six weeks, and they've only had a few leads from the dogs picking up scent.

Frein was reportedly spotted early this week by a resident in the thickly wooded town of Swiftwater, PA. Schools in that area have been closed down. Most the towns in the Northeast part of Pennsylvania have canceled Halloween parades and trick-or-treating. Some are allowing dances to occur at local high schools though, but it is "better to be safe than sorry."

Eric Frien, is number one on ten most wanted list.

College Student Dies of Meningitis

Panic has arisen from the San Diego State University, California; after an 18-year-old student, Sara Stelzer, has passed away from Meningitis. They are urgently trying to medically check all the people she might have had contact with. It was reported that there was at least 300-400 people that need to be notified for their own safety.

Stelzer was a freshman at the college and was studying pre communications. She was also a part of the Sorority of Kappa Delta. Two major fraternity parties occurred October 8th and 9th, that she attended. Doctors were recommending campus wide notifications to be sent out to all that attended the Sorority party.

Last Tuesday she was hospitalized with flu-like symptoms (fever, head-ache, vomiting, and nausea). It was too late to save Stelzer, she died last Friday in the hospital. Although the bacterium is not easily transmitted through the air, it is more common with direct contact. Such as sharing glasses, utensils, cigarettes, water bottles, and of course kissing. Any student on the campus that has suspected Meningitis symptoms should go start to the ER department for treatment.

WWII U-Boat Found Off Coast in North Carolina

Crew members standing on the U-576 sub in Germany.
Over 72-years-ago, a U-boat for German troops was sunk during a battle right off the East Coast of the United States, near North Carolina. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration announced the news about the wreckage that was discovered this Tuesday. About 240 yards from the German sub there was another ship, a American Merchant tanker ship, called Bluefields.

According to documents, the U-576 German-sub in early July of 1942, head commander, Kapitanleutant Hans-Dieter Heinicke, had reported back to base claiming the ship was damaged and they were on their way back to Germany. They were on a month-long patrol against the American allied shipping supplies, and had no success. On their voyage back, the sub encountered 19 merchant vessels. Heinicke decided to fire, wanted redemption for their month long failure patrolling. At least seven torpedoes were fired; the U-576 had damaged two other ships including Bluefields. In response, a US Navy Kingfisher aircraft on board of one of the vessels, bombed the sub. Some deck guns from ships were also shooting at U-576. On July 14, 1942 about 4:30 P.M., the sub had sunk. Forty-five casualties were contained in the U-boat, and still are to this day.

Bluefields was damaged severely, but before it was fully submerged underwater, the American troops evacuated the ship.

Boy Found and Re-United With His Mother

The young boy and his mother.

Through all the disaster occurring in the Middle East, here comes a heartwarming story about a mother and son reunited.
Pranvera Zena had her eight-year-old son, Erion, taken from her in June 2014. She made her claim about the boy's father, Arben, taking their son to Syria to fight for the Islamic State. Erion Arbazi, followed his father from across the border of Albania, and then flew with him from Tirana to Turkey, until they eventually ended up in Syria. Reportedly, Arben was supposed to take their son on an expedition to the Kosovo Mountains, instead he took their young son on an adventure he will never forget.

Erion, with the help of social media, was seen in pictures holding up the Islam State (IS) sign, wrestling with other children, all next to a militant black flag. Rescue operations used advanced technology to view Skype calls militant families had in the camps, and also linked into phone calls between Pranvera and Arben, before finally having an idea where Erion was. Careful analysis was authorized for this dangerous operation to get Erion out of the camp, safe and alive.

Members of Chinese Cult Sentenced To Death

Five members from the Chinese doomsday cult were detained and each given certain charges for the murder of a women in McDonalds. Allegedly the report from the police say, the cult had asked the 37-year-old women, Wu Shuoyan, for her number trying to recruit new members. When she refused them, the cult had attacked and had brutally beaten her to death.

Two of the members, Zhang Fan and Zhang Lidong, were sentenced to death. A gruesome description of how these two killed the women was given out to the media. They stomped on her face, took mops and chair from the restaurant, and smashed them across her face until they broke. While other members, such as, Lyu Yingchun, Zhang Hang, and Zhang Qialolin, had just kicked her. They were each sentenced to life, or 7-10 years in prison depending on how they act in prison for the next couple of years.

The cult they are apart of are enrolled in the Church of Almighty God, and they believe one of their members, Yang, was recreated from Jesus Christ. They have been suspected for other charges in the past decade about abductions and kidnappings, making them apart of the list of banned church groups.

Young Boy Kills 90-Year-Old Woman

For the Kurilla family, after they found out that their son had just killed a 90-year-old woman for yelling at him, their lives have been permanently transformed.

The 10-year-old attends Damascus Elementary School in Honesdale, Pennsylvania. Police reports state he did not mean to kill the women, and that he just wanted to "hurt her". The boy admitted to everything, he even described his brutal approach to Helen Novak, the elder women that he killed Saturday morning. He grabbed a wooden crane, and held it against her neck for several seconds, before punching her in the throat and stomach.

The scene where the crime was committed was at the young boys grandfathers house, Anthony Virbitsky. The boy told his grandpa about Novak bleeding, and at first refused to ever touching her. Virbitsky found no blood, but police reports stated that he did find that she was breathing heavily which was odd and asked her repetitively if she was okay. Not even an hour after he left her, did she die.

Her death was ruled as a homicide. The juvenile detention center will not take homicide cases, so the young boy will have an adult court decide his fate in jail. He is without bail and is set to appear in court on October 22.

Balloons Create Tension Between Two Rivals

This is the highest-level of talk between the uneasy neighboring countries of North and South Korea that has occurred in several years. Giant balloons with anti-Kim Jong UN messages were supposedly sent to fly over North Korea from South Korean activists. The response from North Korea was to shoot them down. Almost immediately did both sides end exchanging some fire. The South Korean ministry of Defense claimed the meeting was held for "good will", and the safety of prevention of more conflict. There was also some discussion about cleaning up some of the tensions between the two nations but there was no set date for another meeting in the future.

Wal-Mart Cuts Health Benefits For Part-TIme Workers

Wal-Mart was astonished over how costly their company's employee payments have become over the past year. It was proven that over 500 million more dollars were needed to pay for the health enrollment this year compared to last year. A study showed that many of the part-time workers have signed up for health benefits. A major reason for the demand in extra help in medical assistant is due to Obama Care, which requires health coverage for everyone. Wal-Mart operators did not realize the impact it would have on their revenue made.

The company needed to adjust the eligibility of health benefits for their employees. Most part-time workers were cut and are available for government subsidies though from Obama Care. Many other big time corporations are dealing with same problems, like Home Depot and Target.

It was reported that three students were killed among the six found dead. Also, a 15-year-old male that participate on the soccer club was among those found dead. Over 43 people are still missing. This Saturday police authorities in Mexico's Guerrero State, along a gravel back road, found unmarked graves full of human remains.

Ebola Patient Was Relesased From Hospital

The patient suffering from Ebola virus disease, in a Texas hospital, had told the nurse about his recent journey to Africa. The nurse claimed she "misheard" the patient, and never passed the information to the other hospital employees. They later then released a severely infected patient with "flu like" symptoms home with just antibiotics.

It was later reported those two days after, the patient needed ambulance assistance to be brought back to the hospital. The patient symptoms have worsened, and had to be immediately isolated in an area. The executive vice present, Dr. Mark Lester, stated that the patient was not given the clinical procedure for an Ebola patient.

This is great example of why Americans should at least be checked with screen tests after visiting any foreign place. Any immigrants coming into America should have a screen test protocol too. This will prevent any disease break-outs from occurring.

North Korea Upgrading Their Space Equipment

According to CNN, North Korea have made larger rockets and advanced their space equipment. Which they claim will allow them to "to move forward with another rocket launch". Satellite images from South Korea's military protocol; gave them access to a view on North Korea's new launch pad and gantry tower that holds the rocket in place. This was a year long construction project. North Korea's decision on whether they are going to launch any rockets could have some political concern with South Korea, though. Many tests need to be done to make sure that the rockets are safe and capable of lasting in space.

Unsanitary Streets of Inida, Waste Removing Starts

In the streets of Mumbai, according to CNN, in areas where there is no flush system waste removers started to clean up the waste or "night soil".  The streets of India are scattered with human excretion and the government has hired waste removers to sanitize them. Studies show that at least 50% of India's population does not have access to toilets. People who are considered diseased and the lowest caste in India's caste system, untouchables, are considered to be in the most danger. Still, the workers and people of India have a long road ahead of making India a more healthier, sanitary place to live.

In Japan on Saturday, Mount Ontake started to erupt into clouds of miles thick ash that overthrew sight for hikers on the paths, and near-by residents. At least 36 people could notescape. Relatives to the victims are still desperately looking for their loved ones gone missing. It was estimated that over 200 people were hiking at the time of the eruption.

Researchers claim that Mount Ontake still isn't through with Japan and its residents. Over 17-20 inches of ash have been recorded to cover the areas around and on Mount Ontake. As hydrogen sulfide gas still spews from the mountain, search parties are restrained from exploring the mountain. Japan is on a high alert of 1 to 3 due to the chance of this volcano to erupt again in the next week.  Last eruption lasted for months and spilled out over 200,000 tons of ash.

ISIS Advances in Syrian Areas, Causing Thousands To Leave

Syrians and Iraqians flee the country.
In Iraq and Syria, 200,000 refugees had to abandon their homes, jobs, and way of life due to ISIS expanding in their area. Many are now in Turkey, says the London monitoring groups.
The United Nations claimed that Turkey had reduced the amount of people they're allowing to cross over the border, because of how many people they have received in the past couple of days. Before children can cross over they have to have a vaccination. All are checked for ID, medical issues, and most importantly firearms or anything dangerous.

There is no religious freedom in these nations. Muslim is the major religion for Syria and Iraq. Christians are tormented, taxed or even killed if they do not convert to this religion or some are not even given the chance. This is one of the main causes to thousands of residents fleeing the safety of their homes.
