US Sailors Attacked By Turkish Youth Union

US sailors were assaulted by a group of Turkish Youth Union during their stop near Istanbul. Wednesday, caught on tape, a selected few sailors were approached by the angry Turkish people. The protestors had claimed to be very enraged with the "Yankees" and want the United States to stop their quest on imperialism in the Middle East.

The three members involved in the incident were a part of the USS Ross and visiting Turkey, which is one of the allied nations apart of NATO. Bags were forced onto the sailor's heads. The Turkish people wanted vengeance for what American troops in 2003 did to the Turkish troops. The American troops in Northern Iraq detained the troops, accusing them of smuggling weapons. Then they had forced bags over their heads. Which was allegedly recorded and shown all over Turkey, and it became very popular. Some Turkey groups are still full of resentment, and just overall have a severe dislike to America.

This act of hatred was not tolerated by the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They had tweeted on twitter, condemning the attack, and reinforced that "the Turkish people would join us in rejecting an action that disrespects the Turkish reputation of hostility."
