As archeologists discovered the 700-year-old drawings on the pages of books scattered throughout the recently found mines, they were not exactly what they were expecting! They were in awe by the cartoons that were found printed onto the pages of the monk's manuscripts. This is revolutionary, the knowledge of the medieval times and personality of people back then can now be exploited by the historians that before had very little evidence to go off of. To them these doodles are so similar to the present day doodles; they have funny faces, drawn with beards and scribbled lines around names, etc. Historians think the drawings are funny, and find it amusing that the monks had a "sense of humor". They also can make personal connections to the sketches when they analyze them, which one historian claimed was like they are "sitting right next to them" watching history be made. One note was dated back to May of 1486, which was a love letter.
