The 10-year-old attends Damascus Elementary School in Honesdale, Pennsylvania. Police reports state he did not mean to kill the women, and that he just wanted to "hurt her". The boy admitted to everything, he even described his brutal approach to Helen Novak, the elder women that he killed Saturday morning. He grabbed a wooden crane, and held it against her neck for several seconds, before punching her in the throat and stomach.
The scene where the crime was committed was at the young boys grandfathers house, Anthony Virbitsky. The boy told his grandpa about Novak bleeding, and at first refused to ever touching her. Virbitsky found no blood, but police reports stated that he did find that she was breathing heavily which was odd and asked her repetitively if she was okay. Not even an hour after he left her, did she die.
Her death was ruled as a homicide. The juvenile detention center will not take homicide cases, so the young boy will have an adult court decide his fate in jail. He is without bail and is set to appear in court on October 22.
