American Sniper's Verdict Found

Chris Kyle with his book American Sniper.
Chris Kyle, an American hero and Navy SEAL, was 37 when he was murdered by Eddie Ray Routh two years ago. Recently, and partly from public awareness to the tragedy, the trial for Routh's fate occurred on Tuesday. Kyle and his Navy SEAL partner, Chad Littlefield, helped out at the local shooting ranges in a Texas small town. Soldiers returning from war were common people they assisted, whether they were disabled emotionally or physically. Routh (one men helped at the range) killed Kyle and Littlefield, outside of the shooting range. Allegedly, both the victims received multiple gunshots to their body. Routh was pleading insanity to the jury. He claimed to have schizophrenia, and also traumatic stress from the tours he went through in Iraq. The Jurors found Routh to be guilty without insanity. Due to the investigation and evidence found, the "American disgrace" will be sent to prison for life.

The heroic story of a Chris Kyle he wrote down in his book American Sniper. It was brought to life by Clint Eastwood; the end result was him producing one of the highest grossing movies of the year. American Sniper portrays the battle Chris Kyle (played by actor Bradley Cooper) experienced with the four terms he served in Iraq, his pinpoint accuracy to protect/kill with the sniper, and the emotionally withdrawal he went through from being away from the fight. The movie received one Oscar for sound editing, and brought $322 million dollars into the box office.

The Anniversary of Iwo Jima Photograph

Some soldiers gather around the photograph area.
The most famous photo, and arguable the most inspiring in war history is 70 years old. This moment of five U.S. Marines and a Navy sailor raising an American flag over the battle field of a Japanese island, Iwo Jima, was captured by Joe Rosenthal. He made the climb up the mountain after those groups of marines on February 23, 1945. This photograph went viral, and caused a spark of nationalism in the United States during WWII.  Right after the flag was put up, whistles and gunfire began to go off. They were Americans all over the island were celebrating. This had caused some gunfire from the Japanese soldiers still alive; when the Rosenthal jumped to the floor he had smashed his camera. The men though recovered, and soon after set up for a second chance at a revolutionary photograph.

Underwater Reef Made From Recycled Trains

The ocean bottom has become the train.
The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control have decided on a new project to create an underwater reef for the crustaceans (a group of arthropods; crabs, lobsters, shrimps, etc.) and the fish all in the Atlantic Ocean. For the past couple of years, the New York's Metropolitan Transport Authority has been donating old subway systems, and the metals from the cars. They dismantle and strip the equipment (which is recycled-straps, seatbelts, etc.) to prepare for the hydraulic lines from the ship to drop the train's body into the ocean. Eventually, the company hopes for a line of "houses" to stretch from Delaware to South Carolina. A total of 2,500 trains have been thrown into the ocean.

ISIS Captures Christians

ISIS is known to spread their culture, and eradicate any other religions in the world in a radical way. Allegedly, they have captured 11 villages from the Assyrian Christians in northeastern Syria, and, in total, have 262 detained Christians. These detainees have been dehumanized in these camps, as they are lacking food, water, warmth from blankets, and other necessities. This past week, the numbers for amount captured keeps increasing by the numbers. Originally 70 people were detained, and then ISIS started to capture provinces surrounding that area. ISIS soldiers have even gone as far as burning down churches, and forcing the Christians to pray every day to "Allah". Most of these hostages are children, women, and elders. Some Christians are taking action/ self-defense for their religious communities by joining the Kurdish Militia.

Munk Builds Cathedral From Scrap

For the past 50 years, the Spanish Monk, Justo Gallego Martinez, has devoted his life to constructing a Cathedral brick by brick. The masterpiece is in the town of Mejorada del Campo, 13 miles East of Madrid and it is referred to as, Don Justo.

In 1963, Martinez saw a vision in his head of a Cathedral. He had no blue prints, no money, and no permission, just faith. So he began collecting donations and recycled materials that he used for the Cathedral. Old car wheels shape the arches in most of the building, while oil drums are stacked on top of each other to make the columns. The project is very time consuming and calls for 10 hour workdays. The Cathedral has a library, homes for Priests, baptistery, and towers up to 200-feet in the Central areas. The Don Justo spreads 91,500 square feet.

Today Martinez in 88-years-old today and still is trying to complete his unfinished, massive Cathedral. Many describe him as a thin, old, white haired man who still continues to complete his life mission.

Mardi Gras and Ash Wednesday

Christians celebrate the upcoming of the resurrection of Jesus Christ with Lent. The sacrifice of a highly desired object or good is given up for an entire 40 days. This is all done for the preparation of the Holy Week and the feast that comes with it. "Lent is the opportunity to change what we ought to change but have not...Lent is about becoming, doing and changing whatever it is that is blocking the fullness of life in us right now." Although Lent is not the Bible, scholars can date fasting back to 325 A.D. When receiving the ashes, the priest whispers the words from Genesis 3:19. "You are dust, and to dust you shall return." Traditionally the Tuesday before, "Fat Tuesday", is when communities or churches hold a Mardi Gras similar to carnivals, for everyone. It is considered the people participating in the fasting to be their last hurrah.

Mardi Gras parades take place all over the world.

Deadly Superbug Kills 2

There has been an outbreak of a superbug that has already claimed two lives of Americans. This Carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE), is not one, but a group of bacteria that are resistant to most antibiotics found in hospitals or other health related facilities. Carbapenem is a last resort antibiotic used when a bacterium is resisting on an intense level. The infection usually starts in the intentines and works its way to other parts of the body. For the past two year, many health industries, such as the Centers for Disease Control, have been warning the uprising to this deadly bacterium. It has evolved to become more resistant and spread quicker scientists claim. It is more commonly spread in hospitals because a surgery could be performed with a contaminated instrument, endoscope or surgical devices. Also could be the negative affect to a nurse/doctor washing their hands.

Apple Industry Accused of Stealing Employees

Apple, the multi-millionaire company and IPhone makers, have been accused of stealing employees from the A123 battery system developers. Allegedly these hundreds of engineers hired were directed to launch an electric car in Apple's name. A lawsuit in Massachusetts was issued, and many claims about Apple trying to "raid" the company, have been made. The A123 system creates lithium-ion batteries that fuel electric cars for many car industries especially Chevrolet. Neither of the two companies has responded to the media questions and it still unknown what will become of Apple. Serious investigation is in progression as officials search to see if the allegations are true. In the past, Apple has been known to invest in an area, and steal some products, and never truly enter with a contract.

Fight Request Sent to Congress Against ISIS

President Obama has issued for an authorized congressional bypass in allowing military action to be taken against ISIS. During a press conference, the bill he delivered to Congress stated that the United States effort to destroying the dominating terrorist group, ISIS, would begin with airstrikes. Obama assured that it would not yet resort to ground troops that would be sent to Iraq and Syria, but training facilities should get soldiers prepared.  This is the reaction from multiple threats sent from the ISIS extremists to the National Security of US. Immediately, the House of Republican leaders dismissed the White House draft, and insisted that the President should have more limitations. They believe the bill did not meet the standards that need to be taken against the ISIS group.

"Under God" in Pledge Causes Conflict

Should "Under God" be taken out of the Pledge?
Many Atheist activists have been attacking schools for the phrase "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance. In many cases, they lose their cases due to the freedom of speech, or first amendment. Judges and government officials claim that a person is obligated to opt out that line if it "offends their beliefs." In one particular case, a New Jersey senior, Samantha Jones, stood up against the Atheists who tried to legally remove the phrase and won. "I'm so grateful the court decided that kids like me shouldn't be silenced just because some people object to timeless American values," said Jones.
Many judges believe the lawsuits to be illogical and do not think it violates the plaintiff's rights.

Moath al- Kasasbeth was the pilot that was ruthlessly murdered by the Muslim radicals. Moath's homeland, Jordan, has murdered two prisoners, who were classified as suicide-bombers. "These were criminals and there is no comparison between them and Moath. HIs blood is more valued than Sjida al-Rishawi and Ziad Karbouli," said al- Kasasbeh's father, Safi. "I demand that revenge should be bigger than executing prisoners."
