The Egyptian President, Mohamed Morsy, was sentenced to twenty years in prison early Tuesday morning. He had been on trial for violence against protesters outside the presidential palace on December, 2012. About fourteen other co-defendants also stood on trial. Some of them were apart of his presidential staff. All of them were convicted with acquitted murder, violence and instigating the violence. Many of the victims of torture, have outspoken about the "fair" punishment given. "This is a very appropriate and clear verdict on people that committed the crime," he said. AC/DC Drummer Pleaded Guilty

Phil Rudd, the famous drummer for the iconic Australian rock band AC/DC, has pleaded guilty in his trial against the charges of threatening to kill and possession of drugs in his home in New Zealand. He denied all of these charges and made a surprise guilty plea Tuesday. The 60-year-old recorded and released a solo album earlier in the year, and expected high rates. When it flopped on the charts a month later, Rudd fired several of his employees, and called his associate to ask for his personal assistant to be "taken out." The court files reported that he later called the assistant and said, "I'm going to come over and kill you." Rudd continued these, as his lawyer called them "angry phone calls," for a few more weeks. The assistant reported to eventually stop answering the phones, and was "fearful" for his safety. Phil Rudd could face up to seven years in prison for the charge of threatening to kill. He was currently just released on bail until the sentencing hearing on June 26.

Volcano Eruption in Chile

The sun setting on the active volcano.
This Wednesday, for the first time since 1972, the 6,500 foot Calbuco Volcano in Chile erupted. Huge amounts of smoke shot more than 6 miles skyward throughout the day. During the night, a second eruption blasted red-hot rocks and lava skyward, which produced a radiant show of  lightning. There have been no reports of injuries, since city officials made sure to evacuate immediately after the first sign of an eruption (gas and smoke spewing). It was reported that over 4,000 people were safely evacuated before the more serious eruption. Geologists and the mining service in Chile are warning and preparing for a third eruption.

Tumor Removed Ends Up Being Unborn Twin

Yamini Karanam.
Yamini Karanam, 26, became a college student after she moved from India to Indiana to study computer science. Recently, doctors removed a brain tumor from her pineal region after she was complaining about headaches and fatigue for months on end. Karanam claimed that she went on vacation to take a break from school and work. She expected that her two weeks away would be full of fun on the beach, but in reality spent a week sleeping and complaining about headaches. When Karanam returned and visited the doctors, they discovered a tumor in her brain. They determined the surgery was risky and could result in permanent damage to her brain. After six months of searching, Karanan found Dr. Hrayr Shaninian, a neurologist at the Skullbase Institute in LA, United States. He agreed to perform the surgery, and upon the removal of the brain tumor discovered that the tumor had bones, hair and teeth. Also known as Teratomas, the surgeon claimed that this type of embryonal tumor is the most common to occur in infants less than 36 months old. He determined that the tumor was not cancerous, and Karanam should make a safe recovery.

Salt Water Found on Mars

Researchers have found salt water on Mars! After years of intense dedication to discovering and searching the allegedly bone-dry planet, data was recovered reporting that there are tiny salt water puddles in the surface of Mars. Experts analyzed the planet's thin atmosphere and detected that Martian soil could pull water vapor from the air into the soil during night, which keeps it from freezing despite the extreme cold temperatures. The Gale Crater has been monitoring for an entire year the climate and humidity in Mars, and this theory is well supported. There are theories of how Mars once had a sea as big as the Atlantic Ocean, and there is still evidence from researchers that there is in fact ancient stream-beds and lakes found in the surface of the planet.

"Fault in Our Stars" Couple is Real

Katie and Dalton Prager were both eighteen, when they fell in love with each other. Although they have a variety of similarities that drew them together, there is one in particular that was rather different than the average teenage couple. They both were/still are fighting the same cancer, cystic fibrosis. This newly wed couple, have been experiencing some trouble recently. As Mr. Prager, received a lung transplant in November and was recovering in Pittsburgh, Mrs. Prager could not visit him because of her health condition. She needed to get a lung transplant too, but because of financial issues between insurance and the University of Kentucky (where her doctors are), the procedure was unable to take place. Also, the doctors reported that doing an out-of-the-state transplant was too risky, which Mrs. Prager requested. Finally, with CNN's help, Mrs. Prager will be able to receive a lung transplant with no financial issues at UPMC. This Tuesday, she saw her husband for the first time in 5 months, the surgery is scheduled to take place within the next month, as preparation is still needed.

Japan's Biggest Military Vessel, Izumo, Since WWII

The opening ceremony for Izumo.
Japan opens up one of the largest military vessels to see service since World War II, better known as Izumo. This is a part of Japan's Maritime Self-Defense Force (MSDF). The opening ceremony and base for the fleet, was in Yokohama, and is also home to one of the United States Navy's Seventh Fleet. Many are questioning whether the construction of the ship is a violation of the constitution designed by the United States to the Japanese. They are no longer allowed any military positions. Since the ship is so big, the belief it will be used as an aircraft carrier, caused some confusion. The Defense Minister Gen Nakatani  made a statement about the fleet's size, claiming it would only host joint operations and act as an command center. He insisted that the new addition to Japans MSDF was designed for peaceful purposes.

They are a part of the South Korea National Intelligence center have denied any of the accusations made against their organization. They even insisted that "it's very regrettable that the North is making such a groundless claim about them." The two countries are technically still in a state of war today, as of from 1953, only an armistice was signed after the end of the Korean War, never a Treaty of Peace.

Tunnels Upon to the Public in Vietnam

A system of tunnels underneath the ground.
The Vietnam War occurred in the late 1960's and early 1970's, and was considered to be one of the hot spots in the Cold War. United States sent troops into Vietnam, an area that was taken over by Communists and the Soviet Union allies. The troops would help the Southern area of the country. At first, France tried and failed to contain communism, when the North Leader, Ho Chi Minh, and his warriors demoralized French soldiers and caused  a withdrawal. The United States joined the conflict. A part of Ho Chi Minh's tactics and strategies was known as guerrilla warfare. Tunnels were built underneath the ground for an easy, secret view on the enemy's movement. The Vietnamese would place booby-traps, like bamboo sticks made into spikes on bottoms of hidden holes with human flesh stuck through them. This caused enemy troops to slow down their movement. These tunnels, many decades after the conflict, are now opened to the public. The government has sparsely furnished rooms; they're preserved with the old teak wardrobe of a solider. It opens the door and it offers the entrance to an alternative world from sixty years ago.
