A New Type of High

How do you find your high? For a small group in Russia, sharing the same mutual interest in urban life and the landmarks that are constructed in them, it is scooping buildings and structures scattered throughout widely known cities. OTR (On the Roofs), has young photographers on a quest for captures of a more thrilling perspective of cities all over the world, just "for fun".

About five years ago (2009) in Moscow; a group of driven kids began to climb the simple buildings of Russia, with the idea that a beautiful still would come out of it. The audacious members desperately yearned for more exciting pictures though. They started then to scale larger skyscrapers. Still that wasn't enough for these adrenaline junkies. Claiming OTR wanted better footage, they started to migrate to different countries, and climb some of the world's tallest skyscrapers and perilously lean over edges with their video cameras.

They literally have gone out on a limb to get the most amazing footage. However, OTR has also seized parts of the subways and subterranean locations that are not regularly noticed by everyday passersby. Some places are strictly prohibited, and when they enter them they are considered trespassing. But they're not scared of the heights and spiders in these grimy areas, they are most terrified of the police catching them. OTR have ventured into at least 50 different countries and counting, Arabian countries are the most dangerous in consequences that would result if they were to be caught.
