Wal-Mart was astonished over how costly their company's employee payments have become over the past year. It was proven that over 500 million more dollars were needed to pay for the health enrollment this year compared to last year. A study showed that many of the part-time workers have signed up for health benefits. A major reason for the demand in extra help in medical assistant is due to Obama Care, which requires health coverage for everyone. Wal-Mart operators did not realize the impact it would have on their revenue made.
The company needed to adjust the eligibility of health benefits for their employees. Most part-time workers were cut and are available for government subsidies though from Obama Care. Many other big time corporations are dealing with same problems, like Home Depot and Target.
