Air Pollution in Asia

The air pollution in 1997 throughout Asia sky rocketed and increased the hospital visits by 40%, which later was recorded as one of Asia's worst "haze episodes."  A yearly average of people that die due to the sickness caused from pollutes in the air is 7 million. The common causes of death were stroke and heart disease, followed by chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD,) and many other respiratory infections. It is more commonly seen in China and India, as both of their populations combined is 2.7 billion people.

The cities are full vehicles, fossil fueled power plants, and factories. Most of the emissions from the factories are regulated by the tailpipe scrubbers, converters, or other pollution mitigating applications. The government has been taking some actions, by making it known throughout the country, and more public health interventions.
